Basking Ridge Country Club welcomed New Jersey’s junior golfers on Monday, July 7 for the NJPGA Junior Open. The two-day, 36-hole tournament selected both age group winners, as well as overall male and female champions.
Boys 11-15 Division winner Jake Mayer fired a 9-over par, 151 to move to the top of the leaderboard at the end of Day 2. Mayer was trailed by Byron Chin, who carded a 13-over par total, 155.
In the Boys 16-18 Division, Brant Wolff, Brendon Kim and Ben Raff posted triplet 150’s to land in a playoff for the championship. Wolff won the playoff with a birdie on the first hole, pushing Kim into second and Raff into third.
Wolff captured the Boys Overall championship, while Raff and Kim swapped for second and third, respectively.
Carolyn Wang and Tiya Chowdary won both the Girls 11-15 and Girls overall championships. Wang shot an 11-over, 157, while Chowdary trailed by 9 strokes with a two-day total, 166.
