The New Jersey Golf Foundation has awarded the prestigious Peter A. Famiano Memorial Scholarship to junior golfers and recent high school graduates Jessica Wild, of Stockton, and Nicholas Cappetti, of Burlington. The recipients were honored on Monday, July 7, at the 6th annual New Jersey Golf Foundation Peter A. Famiano Pro Am at Crestmont Country Club in West Orange.
Peter Famiano served as Head Golf Professional at Crestmont Country Club for over 35 years. The NJ Golf Foundation created the $2,500 scholarships in his memory, which are awarded to two New Jersey junior golfers who demonstrate integrity, professionalism and willingness to help others.
“Peter Famiano was the consummate professional that always gave back and helped others, so we are thrilled to support the continuing education of these deserving individuals in Peter’s honor,” said Executive Director of the New Jersey Golf Foundation, Chris Hunt.
Cappetti recently graduated Burlington Township High School and will attend Campbell University in the fall of 2014, where he plans to join the PGA Golf Management University program. Wild, a recent Hunterdon Central High School graduate, will attend the University of Tampa.
