The New Jersey Golf Foundation (NJGF), the charitable arm of the New Jersey Section, PGA of America (NJPGA), announced the recipients of the prestigious Peter A. Famiano Memorial Scholarship. Junior golfers Rianna Quiogue of Hanover Park, David Hicks of Middle Township, Nicole Eager of South Plainfield and Brad Demitus of Colonia were awarded Scholarships and honored at the 7th Annual New Jersey Golf Foundation Peter A. Famiano Memorial Pro-Am on July 2, 2015, at Crestmont Country Club, in West Orange, N.J.
Peter Famiano was the Head Golf Professional at Crestmont Country Club for over 35 years. In honor of Peter, the NJGF created the Peter A. Famiano Memorial Scholarship, which recognizes worthy New Jersey junior golfers for their professionalism, integrity, volunteerism, and willingness to help others. It is a $2,500 annual scholarship that is open to college students of any class year, provided they continue to meet the standards set forth by the Scholarship Committee.
“The 2015 Peter A. Famiano Memorial Scholarship recipients have distinguished themselves on the golf course, and more importantly, as well respected young men and women within their communities,” said Chris Hunt, Executive Director, New Jersey Golf Foundation. “Peter Famiano was always committed to helping others, and it’s rewarding for us to support the continuing education of these deserving individuals in Peter’s honor.”
