The home team, Max Greyserman and Jim Rosenthal, defeated Vince Totka of Old York at Chesterfield and Dave Hirschhorn of Peddiem to be named champions of the 82nd NJSGA Four-Ball at Crestmont Country Club in West Orange on Thursday, August 7. In 2013, the home team, Dominic Gatto and Riley Powers, won the Four-Ball at their club, Eagle Oaks in Farmingdale.
Greyserman and Rosenthal surpassed Steve Zychowski and Sam Wallach of Mendham in the semifinals. Totka and Hirschhorn defeated Kevin Kevin McSorley of Charleston Springs and John Lay III of Howell Park, 19 holes. The final match was tied until the 10th hole, where Greyserman shot a par on the par-4 hole. He continued to par the 12th and 13th holes. Both teams parred on the par-4 16th hole to end the game.
Greyserman recently won the title of the youngest player to win the State Open. The 19-year-old is a rising sophomore at Duke University. Rosenthal, 56, is an investment banker and lives in West Orange.
