Girls of all ages are invited to participate in the first LPGA/USGA Girls Golf Invitational on Monday, August 4, 2014, at Galloping Hill Golf Course in Kenilworth, N.J. The event benefits LPGA/USGA Girls Golf of Greater Newark and includes beginner and advanced flights (by age group) at minimal fees.
With efforts to give girls the chance to learn the game of golf and make friends while developing lifelong golf skills, the junior golf program also strives to build confidence, character and self-discipline in a positive learning environment.
The competition will be open for girls between the ages of 7 to 17 and will include an 18-hole championship as well as 9-hole flights based upon age and skill levels. The participant fee for 18-hole players is just $25 and $15 for 9-hole players, and both include lunch.
The event is a program of Renaissance Junior Golf, Inc, and is supported by the New Jersey State Golf Association, Galloping Hill Golf Course, Union County and the New Jersey Section of the PGA.
The divisions include two for 18-hole players:
Junior Miss Division, ages 15 to 18, and Girl’s Division, ages 14 and under. Tee times for 18-holers begin at 8 a.m.
Nine-hole Divisions with tee times beginning at 9 a.m. are:
Junior Miss Division: ages 15-17; Girl’s Division, ages 11-14, and Beginners Division, Ages 7-14.
