In his 10th appearance on the Champions Tour, Frank Esposito, of Brooklake, recorded his best result of the season, tying for 13th place in the 3M Championship, held July 31- August 2 in Blaine, Minnesota.
Esposito shot a 3-under, 69, in Sunday’s finale to position himself nicely in the final standings. His best round came on day two when he shot 6-under, 66, as he tallied eight birdies and had only one blemish – a double bogey on the ninth hole. In his opening round, he shot 1-under.
His final total, -10, was matched by three other golfers and was eight shots behind winner Kenny Perry.
Esposito’s performance marked his first top-20 finish since joining the Champions Tour in 2015. His previous best came when he tied for 29th at the ACE Group Classic on Feb. 15. The 3M Championship also marked his lowest score to date by seven shots.
